Water Challenge

Today the giraffes tweeted their "I wonder" questions about the phases of water and the water cycle to scientists in Texas, the Pacific Northwest, and around Albemarle County, and Mr. Dunk, our science expert in Texas, helped us answer most of our "I wonders" on our class Twitter account.  Cole asked about water moving uphill, but we know that water moves downhill unless it is helped by an outside force.  To extend our learning and answer Cole's question, we challenged other K/1 classes on Twitter to create something that can move water uphill.  The giraffes used models of "mountains" and "lakes" to brainstorm, collaborate, and create ways to move water.
