Kinderchallenge: Pocahontas and Powhatan Homes

This week we have been learning about Pocahontas and her importance in American history.  On Monday, we tweeted our "I wonder" questions to Mr. Britten, our history expert from Michigan.  After reading his answers and learning more about Pocahontas, the giraffes were curious about the Native American tribe that she belonged to.  We read about the Powhatan tribe, and we looked for pictures of what their villages were like.  The giraffes asked to tweet some of the classrooms that we've worked with and kinderchallenge them to build either a Powhatan longhouse or wigwam.  The giraffes were filmed and interviewed by a local news reporter to talk about the use of social media and technology in a kinder classroom.  Please check newsplex.com for more on the story.
