Learning and Creating: The Little Red Lighthouse
Today the giraffe class was part of a "Google+ Hangout" with two classes from Meriwether Lewis Elementary School and Mr. Ira Socol. Mr. Socol shared his favorite childhood book, The Little Red Lighthouse, with our classes all the way from his home in Michigan! After listening to the story, all three kindergarten classes asked questions and thought of "I wonders" about lighthouses and bridges. To extend our learning, Mr. Socol showed us maps and photos of the real New York lighthouse that this book was based on.
